1546393227 SILLE POTTERY TRADITION AND TODAY

In our country, handicrafts are significantly reduced and need to be supported and protected. One of these handicrafts is pottery. The pottery produced in almost every part of the world is a cultural reflection of the societies they produce. The number of pottery centres in Anatolia is gradually decreasing. The main reason for this reduction is that the new products offered by the plastics and glass industry reduce the market share of pottery.

In this study, a thorough examination was made about pottery found in Sille in the Seljuk district of Konya Province. In this center, where pottery production comes to a standstill, information is obtained from the Masters who operate. It has been observed that pottery is a different tradition, and that it is housed in important details that are separated from other centres. As a result of this study, information about the final situation of Sille Pottery is compiled and it is thought to help solve the problems of Anatolian pottery.
