Garment is one of the important sources which reflects and tells the cultural values of the nations. When the samples coming from the past to today are examined, it is possible to reach the deep information of the past cultures. It is common to think that there is a general garment cultures of the societies but when it is looked closely to the Turkish culture it can be said that it is varied. The knitting characteristics, pattern and embroidery can change from region to region and even local to local and change in a wide range of spectrum. This is more visible when the past centuries`catalogues, garment modals and embroidery technics are examined. The similar situations are seen not only in a specific garment but also whole region. The importance of knittings in the garments of past centuries is undeniable. It is common to see the glory of the knittings on the past centuries`garments and the costumes at the museums. When the history of the knitting is examined ıt can be seen that one of the most important centers of the knitting is Gaziantep which is examined in this study. Slience cloth which has a very important place among the Gaziantep knittings are still alive and contiued to produce via keeping the original format at hand knitting machines. These garment is important because the decoration is done while knitting the slience cloth. In this study, 4 slience cloth and 3 slience cloth vest all of which are wearable and present at Kuva-i Milliye Mücahitler Union and Public Education Center are examined. The examination is carried through observation forms and the interviews with the people who are still wearing these clothes. At the end of the examination the geometric, subjective and herbal ornaments are defined. It is also documented and examined the shape, size and sewing specialities of the garment.
