"Sun" is the name given to the expression used in the Turkish Bookbinding Art and the "decoration motif in the form of the sun on the bookbinding". When the historical development of the Turkish Bookbinding Art, which dates back to centuries, is examined; it is seen that classical Turkish bookbindings ere dominated by sun techniques and sun motifs in various styles and these ornaments represent the characteristic feature of Turkish Bookbinding Art. Techniques of sun decoration seen on the manuscript works; in terms of qualitative characteristics such as the periods in which the works belong, the techniques of sun application and the motifs used in the suns, and ere referred to by different names. The "writing sun" technique, which is the subject of this study and is seen in the manuscript works; is a topical ornamentation technique applied to Turkish Bookbinding Art by "plastering gold on leather bookbinding covers or casting gilt gold gilt".This study was carried out in Republic of Turkey The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has been carried out in Raşit Efendi Manuscript Work Library. Within the scope of the study, the works in this manuscript work library have been studied on the historical background dating back to centuries and on the manuscript work bookbindings of the national heritage of Turkish Bookbinding Art and Turkish Ornamentation Art. Especially manuscript bookbinding of works adorned with the technique of "Writing Sun"; the materials used in making and decorating, the motif and composition characteristics used in the decoration, and the total of 10 manuscript works were documented with photographs. In addition, manuscript works included in the scope of the study; information about the qualifications such as the scope, the periods they belong to and the texts of the works, Republic of Turkey The Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized in accordance with the data available in Turkey Authoring Works Agency archives inventory and explained.
